LA Cheerleaders to get dunked at fair

The Livingston Academy Cheerleaders will get dunked in a fundraiser sponsored by the Livingston Jaycees at next week's Overton County Fair. Beginning at 6 p.m. each night from Monday, July 24 through Saturday, July 29, the Jaycees' dunking machine will be operating near the Jaycees' food booth. In addition to the cheerleaders, elected county officials, School Board members, coaches, teachers, city officials, candidates in the August election, and members of the state champion Livingston Academy Wildcats football team have agreed to participate. LA Boys Basketball Camp held recently

The Livingston Academy Wildcats held a boys basketball camp at the high school recently. Those attending were, in no particular order, Trevor Staggs, Mitch Maynord, Logan Clark, Drew Gore, Wade Eldridge, Josh Johnson, Chase Ferrell, Peter Hollars, Logan Ramsey, Mason Ramsey, Hayden Hill, Kailen Melton, Weston Parrott, Trent Smith, Jared Hood, Zach Castle, Mason Jolley, Dalton Jolley, Grant Holman, Trevor Walker, Beau Carr, Seth Parker, Hunter Poston, Logan Beaty, Jesse Huitt, Daniel Flatt, Loren Crowder, John Michael Ferrell, Marshall Cannon, Joshua Cannon, Colby Reeder, Jesse Carr, Jim Officer, Mason Colson, John Michael Dishman, Adam Oliver, and Justin Hood.

Tennessee Ladies team places 13th in nation

The Tennessee Ladies 10 and Under AAU Basketball Team recently participated in the 10 and Under Girls Basketball National Championships in Orlando, FL. They tied for 13th place in the nation. Team members are, front row from left, Hailey Bass, Rachel Reeder, Alex Marcus, Jaycee Coe, Brooke Smith, back row, Coach Megan Allen, Katherine Carter, Ashley Basham, Rebecca Greenwell, Mackenzie Hensley, Hannah Goolsby, Lexie Dyer, and Coach Ashley Martin. Not pictured are Coach Mindy Odom and Alison Odom. Throughout the season, the Ladies had numerous wins including finishing 1st place in their sub-state tournament in LaFollette and finishing in 2nd place in their state tournament in Memphis.

Jr. Wildcats sign-ups set for Monday

Overton County Junior Wildcats sign-ups and the first practice will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, July 24 at Livingston Middle School.

Players should wear tennis shoes, T-shirts, and shorts and be ready to practice.

 

 

OId Timer's Alumni Game meeting set

An organizational meeting for the Old Timer's Alumni Game fundraiser will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 28 at Livingston City Park.

Anyone over the age of 25- man or woman -╩who has played in Overton County Little League or Babe Ruth is eligible to participate. Entry fee will be $25.

The game will be held on the Babe Ruth field. The date will be decided at the meeting.
