High school soccer field receives needed facelift

The LA Soccer Booster Club and the Overton County Jr. Lady Wildcats coaches have begun a 4-year program designed to improve the quality of the playing field at the high school. The program will include deep core aeration followed by application of sand, topsoil and fertilizer applied twice a year. After aerating the field, more then 40 tons of topsoil, sand, peat moss, and limestone were spread. Funding from the LA Wildcats Soccer Booster Club and volunteer labor were the spearhead of Phase I of the project, but Mid-State Construction provided the loading equipment, and Livingston Limestone and Donald Reid spread the materials.
