Golf tourney raises funds for Hitzeman Foundation

The 4th Annual Hayes Hitzeman Foundation Benefit Golf Tournament was held on Saturday, May 20 at White Plains Golf Course.

Donations of more than $16,000 were given to the foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the research and awareness of SIDS.

The first flight 1st place winning team was made up of Brad Cleaver, Randy Wilson, Greg Hollis, and Troy Wilson.

First flight 2nd place winners were Mark Dronebarger, Danny Sutton, Josh Curtis, and David Qualls.

Second flight 1st place winners were Jason Wyatt, Brian Hardin, James Fondren, and Jeff Roberts.

Second flight 2nd place winners were Tom Lamberson, James Long, Steve Loghry, and Steve Lamberson.

Larry Goolsby won the longest drive prize of dinner for two and a dozen golf balls, donated by O'Charley's.

The putting contest was won by Mike Elder, who took home a Taste of Gourmet gift basket and a dozen golf balls donated by Kim Cravens.

Closest to the hole contests were won by the following:

Hole #6 - Elizabeth Woodard, wingback chair donated by Livingston Furniture Company.

Hole #11 -  Gary Maxwell, guitar donated by Webb's Guitar, Etc. in Livingston.

Hole #12 - David Qualls, two Titans tickets, donated by Greg and Andrea Oliver.

Hole #14 - Donne Greene, Tiffany lamp, donated by Williams Wholesale Lighting.

Hole #16 - Wes Flatt, grill set, donated by Puckett's Furniture in Livingston.

Jason Wyatt was the Early Bird winner of $50, and Brad Cleaver took home the Mulligan prize of $50.

Tournament sponsors were: American Bank & Trust, Financial Strategies Group, First National Bank, Livingston Chocolate Company, Livingston Limestone, Livingston Regional Hospital, McCormick Paper Company, Oliver Creative, Swan Ridge Lake Resort, Overton County News, Roadmaster, Robbins & Robbins Properties, Speck Funeral Home, Swallows Insurance, Farm Bureau Group, W&O Construction, Williams Carpet & Paint, and Dairy Queen.

Tyre, Jason Wyatt, Jeffery Roberts, and Jim Evans.

The foundation was started three years ago by Kyra Hitzeman, daughter of Carson and Vicki Oliver of Livingston, and her husband, Ezra, after the passing of their son, Oliver Hayes Hitzeman, who died June 11, 2002, at the age of 5 months.

The Tennessee Tornadoes 14U softball team participated in the 2006 Summer Hummer Softball Tournament this past weekend gaining 2nd place after playing five games on Saturday.
