Jackson Micah Roe

Paul David and Grace Roe, of Livingston, proudly announce the birth of their son, Jackson Micah Roe, who arrived Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He weighed 6 lbs. 7 oz. and measured 18.5 inches in length.

His grandparents are Dr. Jack and Rosemarie Roe of Livingston, James and Gay Davis of Tullahoma, and the late Virginia Brown.

He is also the great-great nephew of Vivian "Bib" Thornton of Livingston.

 

Lauren Leigh Dorminey

David and Lori Dorminey, of the Oakley community, proudly announce the birth of their daughter, Lauren Leigh, who arrived May 28, 2006, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

She is the granddaughter of Joe and Gale Thompson of Celina and David and Loy Dorminey of Oakley.

Also welcoming home the new arrival were her brothers, Kobe and Rhett.

Weddings

Miss York and Mr. Peek exchange wedding vows June 3

Mr. and Mrs. Dewain Peek

Miss Karen Lynn York, given in marriage by her father, became the bride of Mr. Dewain Edward Peek on Saturday, June 3 at Grace Baptist Church of Alpine. Bro. John Copeland, pastor of the church, officiated the noon ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of David and Mildred York, of Livingston.

The groom is the son of Shelby (Brown) Anderson, of Jackson County, and the late James Peek.

The church was decorated in pink and white, with the seats decorated with pink ribbons.

As they exchanged their vows, the couple stood in front of an arch adorned with ribbon and lights.

Musical selections for the ceremony were performed by classical guitarist Stephen Poore.

The bride wore an ivory, floor-length beaded gown with spaghetti straps and a champagne hued ribbon around the waist. The gown also featured a chapel-length train.

Her jewelry included pearl and diamond earrings and necklace, and a pearl bracelet.

A tiara and a veil completed her look.

Her bouquet consisted of dark pink and light pink roses and greenery.

Serving as maid of honor was the bride's sister, Kim York, of Cookeville. Bridesmaids were the bride's cousin, Christy Raines, of Livingston, and the groom's sister, Amanda Anderson, of Jackson County.

The maid of honor wore a dark pink floor-length gown and carried a bouquet of light pink roses, and the bridesmaids wore light pink floor-length gowns and carrried bouquets of dark pink roses.

Their jewelry included a pearl and diamond earrings, necklace, and bracelet set, gifts from the bride.

The groom wore a black tux and tie, and a white shirt. His boutonniere was a pink rose surrounded with greenery.

Serving as best man was the groom's cousin, Carl Crabtree, of Livingston. Groomsmen were the groom's uncle, Joe Peek, of Nashville, and the bride's cousin, Kyle Dixon, of Carthage. Each wore a tuxedo and boutonniere matching the groom's.

Dustin and Jacob Collins, both of Alpine, cousins of the bride, served as ushers.

The bride's mother wore a knee-length pink skirt and a pink jacket with a pink rose corsage.

The groom's mother wore a blue knee-length skirt and blue jacket with a pink rose corsage.

Patricia Reagan and Patty Hall, cousins of the bride, kept the guest register and handed out programs as guests entered the church.

Coordinating the ceremony was Betty Crabtree, wife of the best man.

Becky Oliver photographed the ceremony, and her husband, Lucas Oliver, videotaped the ceremony.

A reception, catered by The Mill Restaurant, followed the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. More musical arrangements were performed on classical guitar by Stephen Poore.

The wedding cake, designed by Betha Crabtree, was white and three-tiered created in a square shape. The cake was accented by pink petals, with a bride and groom cake topper.

The groom's cake was decorated with a 1969 GTO, recognizing the groom's favorite, and first, car.

After the reception, the couple left for a week-long wedding trip to Dale Hollow State Park Resort in Burkesville, KY. They are now making their home in Livingston where he is the editor of Overton County News and she is a Pre-K teacher with Overton County Schools.

 

Ms. Sells and Dr. Higgins wed July 1 in Pigeon Forge

Dr. & Mrs. Mark Higgins

Ms. Deborah Sells and Dr. Mark Higgins were married on Saturday, July 1 in Pigeon Forge.

The bride is the daughter of Clifford and Sue Wright of Livingston and the mother of Jenna Rose Sells.

The groom is the son of Juanita Higgins of Seattle, WA, and the late Ron Higgins.

The newlyweds, along with daughter Jenna Rose, are making their home in Cleveland, where Mark is an assistant professor at Cleveland State Community College and Deborah will be teaching chemistry at Cleveland High School.

Miss Grace and Mr. Strong to unite in marriage July 15

Miss Tiffany Jane Grace & Mr. Daniel Louis Strong

Sandy Lewis and Timmy Boles, of Celina, proudly announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Tiffany Jane Grace, to Daniel Louis Strong, son of Jerry and Linda Strong of Celina.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Al and Faye Daniels, Gene and Eleen Boles, and Donald and the late Mozelle Grace.

A 2004 graduate of Clay County High School, she is attending MedVance Institute to be a radiology technologist, and plans to graduate in January. She is employed at One Stop Bar-b-que and Cumberland River Hospital in Celina.

The future groom is the grandson of Edwina Napier, Cordell Strong, the late Billy Napier, and Louise Strong.

A 2000 graduate of Celina High School and a 2004 graduate of Tennessee Technological University, Daniel is employed as a teacher at Hermitage Springs School, and is pursuing a master's degree at Tennessee Technological University.

The wedding will take place on Saturday, July 15 at the Dale Hollow Dam Park in Celina.

A reception will follow at the Women's Building of the Clay County Recreational Complex.

The couple will make their home in Celina.

 

Miss Hunter and Mr. Hamilton to unite in matrimony October 14

Mr. Andrew George Hamilton & Miss Ashley Brooke Hunter

The parents of Ashley Brooke Hunter and Andrew George Hamilton, both of Rome, GA, announce the engagement and forthcoming marraige of their children.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Doug Hunter and Lisa Garrett, both of Livingston. She is the granddaughter of Odetta Hunter of Livingston, Wallace Ledbetter, the late Melvin Hunter, and the late Dorthy Ledbetter.

A 2003 graduate of Livingston Academy, she currently attends Berry College in Rome and plans to graduate next May with a bachelor of arts in economics and journalism. She is employed at C.T. Smith/Wiser Financial Services as an investment advisor.

The future groom is the son of Stephen and Elaine Hamilton of Rainbow City, AL, formerly of Lookout Mountain, GA. He is the grandson of Robert and Helen Hamilton and Dora Kelley, all of Rainbow City, and the late George Kelley.

A 2000 graduate of Dade County High School, he attends Berry College and plans to graduate this summer with a bachelor of science in mathematics and economics. He is employed at Ringgold Telephone Company as a systems administrator.

The lakeside ceremony is planned for Saturday, Oct. 14 at the home of the groom's parents in Rainbow City. Formal invitations will be sent.

 

Miss Borden and Mr. Hutchison to exchange wedding vows July 15

Miss Andrea Beth Borden & Mr. Jamie Ray Hutchison

Mr. and Mrs. Terry Borden, of Allons, proudly announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Andrea Beth, to Jamie Ray Hutchison, son of Ruth Ann Carr of Allons and the late Shirley Hutchison.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Olyne Borden and Jewel Martin, both of Allons, the late Edmond Borden, and J.B. "Cotton" Martin.

The future groom is the grandson of A.B. and Anna Carr and Ada Hutchison, all of Livingston, and the late Jake Hutchison.

The wedding will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 15 at Standing Stone State Park Tea Room.

All friends and relatives of the couple are invited to attend.

 

Miss Beaty and Mr. Hilton to exchange wedding vows Aug. 12

Mr. Samuel Lloyd Hilton & Miss Anna Marie Beaty

Anna Marie Beaty and Samuel Lloyd Hilton will be married Saturday, August 12 at Christ Church Presbyterian in Alpine.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Gary Beaty and Melinda Beaty, of Livingston, and the granddaughter of Willie and Grace Beaty, of Monroe, and Lillian Miller, of Livingston, and the late Max R. Miller.

She is a 1999 graduate of Livingston Academy, and is pursuing a degree in elementary education.

The future groom is the son of Patrick and Linda Hilton, of Jonesborough, and the grandson of Sam F. and Marie Vinson, of Smyrna, and the late Lloyd and Lucille Hilton.

He is a 1997 graduate of University High School in Johnson City, and a 2001 graduate of University of Tennessee. He is employed with 21st Mortgage in Knoxville.
