William "Bill" Bowman
Funeral services for Mr. William "Bill" Bowman, 77, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, from the chapel of Valhalla Funeral Home with Mike Johnson and Roger Blackwelder officiating.

Mr. Bowman died Thursday, Oct. 18 in Huntsville, AL. He retired from Chrysler Corporation and was a member of Chapman Acres Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dessie Bowman; 4 brothers, Paul Bowman, Hampton Bowman, Carl Bowman, and Bobby Bowman; and a sister, Reba Nell Bowman.

Survivors include his wife, Oma Jean Bowman; 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Cindy Lewis of Huntsville and Pam and Ronnie Crues of Nashville; a brother, Donald Bowman of Algood; a sister, Christine Eldridge of Algood; 2 granddaughters, Ashley Crues and Brittany Crues; and many nephews and nieces.

Virginia Delorse Garrett
Mrs. Virginia Delorse Garrett, 83, of Rickman, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006. She was a homemaker.

Burial was in Okolona Cemetery. No services are planned at this time.

Born August 6, 1923, in Noble County, MN, she was the daughter of the late Garnet and Anna (Rainsbarger) Hazelwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvy Roy Amundson; a daughter, Debbie Ligenza; and a brother, Quentin Hazelwood.

Survivors include a son, Gary Amundson of New Bethlehem, PA; 5 daughters, Sharon Crissman of New Bethlehem, Sandy Johnson of Westland, MI, Virginia "Candy" Langley and Anna Peter, both of Wyandotte, MI, and Phyllis Roote of Fife Lake, MI; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Annie Vechil Hall
Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Vechil Hall, 89, of Kettering, OH, formerly of Alpine, were conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, from the South Chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory in Kettering.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Green Hill Cemetery with Bro. Kirk Talley officiating.

Mrs. Hall died Friday, Oct. 27 at Walnut Creek Nursing Home in Ohio. She was a member of Kettering Church of Christ.

Born January 24, 1917, in Alpine, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Jane Newberry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Hall; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Survivors include 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas Roger and Betty Hall of Xenia, OH, and Walter "Squeak" Hall; 7 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a beloved niece, Madeline Harris; and a nephew, Eddie Carver.

Rubye (Garrett) Matthews
Funeral services for Mrs. Rubye (Garrett) Matthews, 94, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Judd officiating.

Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Matthews died Sunday, Oct. 8 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a retired clerk and a member of the Church of Christ.

Born November 17, 1911, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Joe Miller and Mary Frances (Little) Garrett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Matthews; an infant daughter, Ramona Matthews; 3 brothers, Hubert Garrett, Earl "Buster" Garrett, and Robert Garrett; and a sister, Hilda Garrett.

Survivors include 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Joe and Louise Matthews and Jerry and Barbara Matthews, all of Livingston; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Frances and Donald Fleming of Allons; a sister, Nelle Maxwell of Louisville, KY; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Michael Matthews, Mark Matthews, Tod Matthews, Brandon Matthews, Russ Robbins, and Craig Brown.

Dovie L. Mayer
Funeral services for Mrs. Dovie L. Mayer, 88, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2006, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Pastor Terry McCloud officiating.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Mayer died Friday, Oct. 27 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of Allons Assembly of God.

Born September 13, 1918, in Merrimack, KY, she was the daughter of the late James A. and Maggie (Gribbons) Beard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Beard; and 2 sisters, Pauline Watkins and Jewel Beard.

Survivors include her husband, Rollie Mayer of Livingston; 2 sons, Roger Mayer of Picacho, AZ, and Ronald Wood of Hamilton, OH; a daughter, Patty Jo Serda of Livingston; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Roger Mayer, Ron Wood, Steve Mayer, Michel Mayer, Shaun Serta, and Jon Wood.

Chad Wayne Michael
Graveside services for Mr. Chad Wayne Michael, 36, of Alpine, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, 2006, at Sutton Cemetery in Wellsville, KS.

Mr. Michael died Sunday, Oct. 22 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He and a friend, Alan Radar, owned a business working in the oil fields.

Born March 9, 1970, in Gardner, KS, he was the son of Dick and Linda (Lederer) Michael of Wellsville.

Survivors include his wife, Ashlie Michael of Alpine; a son, Dale Lederer Michael of Alpine; 2 daughters, Cassidy Braswell and Katelyn Braswell, both of Alpine; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Danny Michael of Wellsville and Rodney and Tammy Michael of Baldwin, KS; a nephew, Kyle; and 3 nieces, Niki, Jamie, and Megan.

James Cecil Moore
Funeral services for Mr. James Cecil Moore, 78, of Cookeville, formerly of Rickman, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Kelly Campbell officiating.

Burial was in Clay Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Moore died Friday, Oct. 27 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a custodian at Tennessee Tech University and a member of Collegeside Church of Christ.

Born May 8, 1928, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Jimmy and Nancy (Moody) Moore.

Survivors include a son, Rick Moore of Rickman; 2 daughters, Joyce Winningham of Byrdstown and Jean Clark of Cookeville; a sister, Reba Dickerson of Rickman; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Phillip Clark, Jason Clark, Ray Mabrey, Lucas Moore, Vance Williams, and David Dickerson.

Albert B. Wilson
Graveside services for Mr. Albert B. Wilson, 58, of Anderson, IN, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 at Memorial Park Cemetery

Mr. Wilson died Wednesday, Oct. 11 at St. Johns Health System in Anderson after an extended illness. An Anderson High School graduate, he retired from Fisher Body Division of General Motors in Marion after 17 years of service.

Born September 6, 1948, in Tennessee, he was the son of Freeman Wilson and Vallie (Terry) Wilson. He lived most of his life in Anderson.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his wife of 39 years, Sherrie (Smith) Wilson; a son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Heidi Wilson of Pendleton, IN; 3 brothers and 2 sister-in-law, Carlos and Arlene Wilson, Danny and Vicky Wilson, and Billy Wilson and his special friend, Brenda Lemon, all of Anderson; 2 sisters, Evelyn Smith and Vickie Wilson, both of Anderson; 2 grandchildren, Kalen Wilson and Kirsten Wilson; nephews and nieces, Brian Judd and fiancee Brandy Davis, Nicki Wilson, Jason Stout, Terry Wilson, Renee Wilson, Krista Goodwin, Chayna Wilson, Jim Stevensons, and April Stevensons; a very special friend, Wilbur Smith; and other special friends, Danny Holland, Steve Walters, Steve Shrake, and the entire Smith family.
