James Harold Bilbrey
Funeral services for Mr. James Harold Bilbrey, 61, of Livingston, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Cobb and Bro. Willie Hugh Bilbrey officiating.

Burial will follow in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Bilbrey died Sunday, Sept. 17 at Overton County Nursing Home. He was a retired central office technician in telephone communications and attended First Baptist Church.

Born February 23, 1945, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Quentin and Agnes (Vaughn) Bilbrey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Bilbrey.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Melita McKelvey of Fuguay Varina, NC, and Shelley Bilbrey of Huntsville, AL; a brother, Randal Bilbrey of Livingston; and 3 grandchildren, Jared McKelvey, Megan McKelvey, and Melanie McKelvey.

Pallbearers were Jared McKelvey, Larry McKelvey, Tony Bilbrey, Stacey Bilbrey, Ray Sells, Bobby Bell, Billy Maynord, and Andrew Maynord.

Barbara Helen (Burgess) Cannon
Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Helen (Burgess) Cannon, 68, of Allons, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, from the chapel of Hall Funeral Home with Bro. Cletus Beason officiating and Edwin Garrett and Mickey Ledbetter speaking.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Cannon died Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Overton County Nursing Home.

Born November 20, 1937, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Martin Estes and Anna Olene (Holman) Burgess.

Survivors include her husband, George Cannon of Allons; a son and daughter-in-law, Estes Mark Allen and Lori Cannon, both of Allons; a sister, Betty Sue Linder of Allons; 3 grandchildren, Charlotte Aleta Cannon, David Allen Ezekiel Cannon, and Dalton Montgomery Cannon, all of Allons; and 2 special friends, Mickey Ledbetter and Joyce Young.

Pallbearers were Ralph White, Steve White, Josh Thurman, Ray Charest, Fred Andrews, and Darrel Beason.

Linzie H. Clark
Funeral services for Mr. Linzie H. Clark, 82, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2006, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Terry McCloud officiating.

Burial was in Bethel Cemetery in Allons. Mr. Clark died Thursday, Sept. 14 at Overton County Nursing Home. He was a sawyer in the lumber business.

Born February 12, 1924, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Hoy L. and Ida Ann (Ledbetter) Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Harold Clark.

Survivors include his wife, Loree Clark of Livingston; a son and daughter-in-law, David and Cindy Clark of Cookeville; 2 brothers, Walter Clark of McMinnville and Junior Clark of Livingston; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Kevin Crawley, Steven Crawley, Chris Beaty, Eric Clark, Darwin Clark, and Jimmy Clark.

Jearline Hinson
Funeral services for Mrs. Jearline Hinson, 68, of Monterey, will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Harris and Dr. Michael Cox officiating.

Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Hinson died Sunday, Sept. 17 at Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Center in Monterey. She was a homemaker and of the Freewill Baptist faith.

Born May 16, 1938, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Dovie Mae (Garrison) Phipps. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Hinson; and a granddaughter, April Nichole Hinson.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Rose Hinson of Monticello, KY; a brother and sister-in-law, Luther and Eva Lee Phipps of Rickman; and 2 granddaughters, Stacy Hinson and Beth Ann Hinson, both of Monterey.

Charlie Waymon Hummel
Funeral services for Mr. Charlie Waymon Hummel, 78, of Allons, were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Allons with Rev. Mike Anderson and Rev. Dewitt Sampley officiating.

Burial was in Fellowship Cemetery. Mr. Hummel died Saturday, Sept. 16 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer, a factory worker in the furniture industry, and a deacon and member of Fellowship Baptist Church.

Born August 9, 1928, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Cordell and Dessie (Dennis) Hummel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Freeman Hummel.

Survivors include his wife, Eudean Hummel of Allons; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Manuel Chavez of Livingston; 3 brothers, James Hummel and Arlis "Shorty" Hummel, both of Allons, and Leeman Hummell of Anderson, IN; 3 sisters, Anna Dean Maples of Richmond, IN, Susan Eversol of Kansas City, MO, and Genell Jones of Livingston; a grandson, Nicky Harvey of Allons; and 2 great-granddaughters, Phoebe Harvey and Shelby Harvey, both of Allons.

Pallbearers were Nicky Harvey, Manuel Chavez, Royce Hummel, Bobby Chilton, Jason Cantrell, and Chad Walker. Deacons of Fellowship Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church's building fund by contacting Speck Funeral Home or the church.

Freddie Allen Johnson
Funeral services for Mr. Freddie Allen Johnson, 39, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. James Shaver officiating.

Burial was in Hanging Limb Cemetery. Mr. Johnson died Wednesday, Sept. 13 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a butcher at a retail grocery.

Born February 16, 1967, in Overton County, he was the son of Otis Johnson of Livingston and the late Maxine (Phillips) Johnson.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include a step-son, Justin Porter of Maryland, VA; 3 brothers, Ricky Johnson of Byrdstown and Ronnie Phillips and Donnie Phillips, both of Allons; a special uncle, Glenn Phillips of Allons; and several nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers were Ed Maynard, Daniel Phillips, Burt Douglas Phillips, Doug Holman, Kenny Wilson, and Mark Bilbrey.

Honorary pallbearers were Kent Terry, Mark Hill, Ron Neunlist, Nathan Wright, Dewayne Ledbetter, Curt Eldridge, and the class of 1985 at Livingston Academy.

Betty Jo Matthews
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jo Matthews, 68, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Ovle Tinch and Rev. Monica Mowdy officiating.

Burial was in Okolona Cemetery. Mrs. Matthews died Friday, Sept. 15 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a factory worker in the garment industry and a member of Okolona United Methodist Church.

Born November 25, 1937, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Dillard and Lizzie (Ramsey) Poston. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister.

Survivors include her husband, Hoyet B. Matthews of Livingston; a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Ammie Matthews of Livingston; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Sue and Mikael Ross of Cookeville and Sherrie and Larry Allred of Las Vegas, NV; 7 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Paul White, Chad Moody, Justin Moody, Bob Matthews, Davis Fox, and Charles F. Qualls Jr.

Jonathan Glenn Pierce
Graveside services for Mr. Jonathan Glenn Pierce, 24, of Barnhart, MO, were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at Martin Cemetery in Allons with Dr. Lyle Anderson officiating.

Mr. Pierce died Sunday, Sept. 10 at St. John's Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur, MO. He was a crew leader at Central Fence Company.

Born August 9, 1982, in Nashville, he was the son of Gordon and Patricia (Hensley) Pierce.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Patricia and David Clardy of Barnhart; his grandfather, J.B. Hensley of Livingston; 3 siblings, Chondell Villines and her husband, Joe, of Collinsville, IL, and Trinity Clardy and Jay B. Clardy, both of Barnhart; and his step-grandparents, Robert and Rose Clardy of Cuba, MO.
