Myrtle Jean Allred
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Jean Allred, 72, of Livingston, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 19, 2006, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Donald Cobb officiating.

Burial will be in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Allred died Saturday, July 15 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a factory worker, a member of AARP, and of the Baptist faith.

Born November 16, 1933, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Edith (Christian) Eldridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fowler Eldridge; and 3 sisters, Dean Eldridge Warden, Pearl Eldridge Davis, and Helen Eldridge McCauley.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Allred of Livingston; 3 sons, Michael Wayne Allred and Mark Alan Allred, both of Livingston, and Marvin Keith Allred of Hilham; 2 brothers, Harold Eldridge of Hilham and Ernest Eldridge of Alpine; 2 sisters, Mary Ruth Copeland and Irene Brown, both of Livingston; 7 grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

Pallbearers were Bryan Allred, August Long, Sean Eldridge, Shannon Eldridge, Danny Eldridge, and Marvin Allred.

Teresa M. (Allen) Brown
Funeral services for Mrs. Teresa M. (Allen) Brown, 42, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2006, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Brown died Sunday, July 9 at her home. She was a garment factory worker and of the Baptist faith.

Born December 25, 1963, in Overton County, she was the daughter of Janice Marie (Carr) Allen of Livingston and the late Donald Allen.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include her husband, Jack Brown of Livingston; and a sister, Donna Allen of Livingston.

Pallbearers were Keith Steele, John Ringley, Nicky Harvey, Billy Harris, Danny Webb, Christopher McDonald, Terry Johnson, Brian White, and Shawn Choate.

John Carlyle Cross
Funeral services for Mr. John Carlyle Cross, 84, of Byrdstown, were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at Brown Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ricky Cross and Bro. Wayne Lee officiating.

Burial was in Amonett Cemetery.

Mr. Cross died Sunday, July 9 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a farmer and van driver for the elderly.

Born July 21, 1921, he was the son of the late Thomas and Polly (Holt) Cross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, George Cross and Hobert Cross; and 2 sisters, Molly Neal and Ona Dennis.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys (Sells) Cross of Byrdstown; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Phil and Kathy Cross of Monroe, David and Jerri Cross of Rickman, and Randall and Martha Cross of Hendersonville; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Earl Pritchard of Byrdstown and Marie and George Kauffman of Hendersonville; 3 sisters, Ova Cross and Ola Lee, both of Winchester, and Vina Lee of Columbus, IN; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nephews, nieces, and other family members and friends.

Pallbearers were Martin Cross, Josh Cross, Justin Cross, Cody Cross, Eric Cross, Franklin Kauffman, Jason Kauffman, and Chris Kauffman.

Bailey "Lon" Hoover
Funeral services for Mr. Bailey "Lon" Hoover, 100, of Hanging Limb, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2006, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Ovle Tinch officiating.

Burial was in F.A. Norrod Cemetery in Hanging Limb.

Mr. Hoover died Wednesday, July 12 at Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Center in Monterey. He was a retired coal miner and of the Baptist faith.

Born May 31, 1906, in Overton County, he was the son of the late E.L. and Dollie (Qualls) Hoover. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie (Murphy) Hoover on October 23, 2005; 2 infant children, Ethel and Judy Ann Hoover; 3 brothers; and 5 sisters.

Survivors include 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie and Wanda Hoover and Marrison and Jacqueline Hoover, all of Hanging Limb, and Randall and Mildred Hoover of Monterey; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Rev. Coleman Looper of Rickman, Brenda and James Matthews of Hanging Limb, and Barbara and Ronnie Poston of Cookeville; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nephews and nieces.

Donnie James McDonald
Funeral services for Mr. Donnie James McDonald, 48, of Monroe, were conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2006, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating.

Burial was in Sylvester Robbins Cemetery. Mr. McDonald died Sunday, July 9 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a factory worker and attended Beaty Swamp Community Church.

Born May 20, 1958, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Rupert and Lerion (King) McDonald.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Barney and Rose McDonald of Byrdstown; and special friends, Cindy Buck, Casey Buck, and Sasha Buck.

Pallbearers were Daryl McAllister, Ted Winningham, George Sells, Pat Smith, Ralph Smith, and Tommy Crabtree. T. Crabtree served as honorary pallbearer.

Rhonda Michelle Stewart
Funeral services for Ms. Rhonda Michelle Stewart, 40, of Cookeville, were conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2006, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Ovle Tinch officiating.

Burial was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 12 in Eckels Cemetery. The family chose cremation.

Ms. Stewart died Thursday, July 6 at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a factory worker at Russell Stover Candy Company and a member of the Church of Christ.

Born February 25, 1966, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of Champ Stewart and Sarah (Ashburn) Stewart West of Livingston. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Braskie and Hannah Ashburn and W.T. and Myrtle Stewart.

Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her step-father, John West of Livingston; a step-sister, Julie West of Nashville; a step-brother, Davis West of Livingston; and several other family and friends.
