Claude "TEX" Sullivan
Funeral services for Mr. Claude "Tex" Sullivan, 99, of
Hemet, CA, were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006, at
Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet, CA.
Mr. Sullivan died Friday, June 2 in Hemet. With the exception of
his years of age 21-35, Mr. Sullivan had been in business for himself,
with his loyal and efficient partner, Edith. For the next 44 years,
they owned and operated numerous businesses from Long Beach, CA,
to Hemet. All of his business ventures were new and challenging,
and he was never afraid to try, and always achieved.
He and Edith settled in Hemet in 1970, building homes and apartments,
finally retiring 15 years ago to enjoy the friendships he so much
enjoyed, as well as time with his family and grandchildren.
He was born August 2, 1906, in Hilham.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Edith Sullivan of Hemet;
2 sons, Ron Sullivan and his wife, Elizabeth, and Roger Sullivan
and his wife, Jerri; 5 adoring grandchildren, Scott Sullivan of
Kokomo, IN, Shawn Sullivan and his wife, Katherine, of Evansville,
IN, Tracy Sullivan of Irvine, CA, Cory Sullivan and his wife, Susan,
of San Francisco, CA, and Natalie Spahr-Gutierrez; and 3 great-grandchildren,
Kaya Maile, Mary Elizabeth, and Sophia.
The Sullivan family and friends are extremely blessed to have had
him in their lives for as long as they did. His example of how life
is lived has been a lifelong impression on his children and grandchildren.
The love, devotion, caring, and sharing of time and experiences
will have a lasting impression on those who knew him. Knowing that
Tex never met a stranger, the family is positive that his Lord and
God will enjoy his everlasting company as his family has during
this lifetime.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of the Valley
Wide Foundation, Western Center for Paleontology, P.O. Box 907,
