Obituaries
Bulos M. Martin
Funeral services for Mr. Bulos M. Martin, 76, of Monroe, were conducted
at 11 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2006, from the chapel of Speck Funeral
Home with Bro. Randy Maynord officiating.
Burial was in Martin Cemetery.
Mr. Martin died Saturday, June 3 at Cookeville Regional Medical
Center with his family by his side. A truck driver, he retired from
Roadway Express in 1992 after 21 years and received the 2.75 Million
Miles Safe Driving Award. He was also a United States Army veteran
of Korea, a member of Teamsters Local 20 and 24 for 35 years, a
member of Harbor Light Lodge 746 of Toledo, OH, a member of Toledo
Chapter 161, a member of Zenobia Shrine Temple in Toledo, a member
of Independence Community Church, and a 32nd degree Mason of the
Toledo Scottish Rite.
Born January 24, 1930, in Overton County, he was the son of the
late Dillard F. Martin and Maude (Langford) Martin. In addition
to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bonza Dennis.
Survivors include his high school sweetheart and wife of 55 years,
Barbara Martin of Monroe; a son, Richard Martin of Greer, SC; 3
daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Deborah and Mark Lawver of Copley,
OH, Patricia Martin of Taylor, SC, and Donna and Lonnie Sisco of
Monterey; a sister, Bessie Guay of Corinna, ME; 11 grandchildren
of whom he was very proud, Todd Lawver, Kelly Lawver, Kim Lawver,
Lisa Martin, Russ Martin, T.J. Hillabrand, Zach Hillabrand, Matt
Hillabrand, Nikita Sisco, Jon Sisco, and Brittany Sisco; and several
nephews, nieces, and friends.
Pallbearers were his grandsons, Todd Lawver, Russ Martin, Jon Sisco,
T.J.Hillabrand, Zach Hillabrand, and Matt Hillabrand.

Mrs. Mildred (Matthews) O'Meara
Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred (Matthews) O'Meara, 91, of Great
Falls, VA, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2006, from the
chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston with Rev. Nolen Brunson
officiating.
Burial, with full military honors to be performed by the Honor
Guard from James T. Davis Memorial Post 5062, will be at Bethlehem
Cemetery.
Mrs. O'Meara died Friday, June 2 in Virginia. A retired registered
nurse, she was a veteran of World War II with the Corps of Army
nurses as 1st lieutenant and worked at Walter Reed Army Hospital,
Georgetown University, Fairfax Visiting Nurses, and St. Elizabeth's
Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Born August 20, 1914, in Livingston, she was the daughter of the
late George L. and Cynthia "Lou" Walker Matthews. In addition
to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Jeremiah
D. O'Meara Sr. in 1980; 4 brothers, Patrick, Frank, Robert, and
Hoyt Matthews; and 4 sisters, Sara, Georgia, Fann, and Henrietta.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeremiah Jr. and
Christina O'Meara and George and Laura O'Meara; 3 daughters and
sons-in-law, Kathleen and Daniel Painter, Cynthia and Dr. J. Michael
Amburgey, and Mildred and Gary Lett; 15 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

David Harlon Sells
Funeral services for Mr. David Harlon Sells, 62, of Livingston,
were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2006, from the chapel
of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Earl Johnson officiating.
Burial was in Ferrell Cemetery. Mr. Sells died Saturday, June 3
at his home. He was a customer service representative for Best Bumper
Company, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Jesus Precious Word
Church.
Born February 29, 1944, in Overton County, he was the son of Edith
(Ledford) Sells of Alpine and the late Harlon Sells. In addition
to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Dial;
and 2 uncles, John Ledford and Kenneth Ledford.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Linda Carol
Sells of Livingston; 3 sons, Wayne Sells, Alan Lewis, and Jimmy
Lewis, all of Livingston; a daughter, Anna Lee Ford of Livingston;
3 brothers, Danny Sells and Michael Sells, both of Alpine, and Billy
Joe Sells of Smyrna; 2 sisters, Juanita Dial and Barbara Crabtree,
both of Livingston; an uncle, Bruce Ledford of Lebanon; an aunt,
Nannie Mae Ledford of Livingston; and 6 grandchildren, Tyler Sells,
Kandance Sells, Zakary Sells, Elizabeth Lewis, Marissa Lewis, and
Kaitlyn Lewis.
Pallbearers were Rocky Dial, Daniel Sells, Josh Norrod, Tim Coffee,
Jamie Ward, David Nimmo, and Jimmy Walker. Honorary pallbearers
were the employees of Best Bumper Company and Grady Maxfield and
Greg Hunter.
