Holmes takes command of 278th

Soldiers of the 278th Regimental Combat Team “pass in review” during Change of Command Ceremonies at Knoxville’s West High School Stadium on Saturday, June 3.

Lt. Col Jeff Holmes addresses the Regiment for the first time during the ceremony. Holmes recently completed command of the 3/278 ACR headquartered in Cookeville.

Cruise-in, BBQ contest set for Saturday

Well dressed Becky Linder, Kim Boles, Kristen Robbins, and Caitlin Long stopped by the May monthly Standing Stone Cruisers Car Cruise-In following the Livingston Middle School graduation. Though not discouraged, such formal attire is not required to attend or participate in the cruise-in, which will once again grace the Livingston square on Saturday, June 10, beginning around 4 p.m. The non-judged show is free to both participants and spectators. For more information visit www.StandingStoneCruisers.com. A 4-H fundraising barbecue cook-off will also be held in conjunction with the cruise-in. 4-H members can enter for free, and adults (18 and over) can enter with a $15 entry fee. Registration for the barbecue contest will begin at 10 a.m., and the grills can be started at 11 a.m. The cook-off will end at 2 p.m. For more information on the BBQ contest call Robbie Melton at Overton County Extension at (931) 823-2735.
