HILLIS DUKE
Funeral services for Miss Hillis Duke, 76, of Baxter and formerly of Overton County, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Ruth Chapel Cemetery with Bro. Tim Wilson officiating.

Miss Duke died Monday, September 20 at Masters Health Care Center in Algood. She was a homemaker and a member of Ruth Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Born January 18, 1928, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Ruthie (Matthews) Duke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Horace Duke.

Survivors include a son, Alan Masters and his wife, Amy, of St. Marys, GA; a brother, Paul Duke of Livingston; four sisters, Gladys Langford of Cookeville, Jean Williams of Detroit, MI, Janice Woosley of Livingston, and Blanche Fox of Boaz, AL; two grandchildren, Heather Yuill and Casey Masters; and four great grandchildren, Skylar Masters, Elizabeth Yuill, Austin Yuill, and Bryce Blakely.

ROSEMARY (COULSON) HUDDLESTON
Funeral services for Mrs. Rosemary (Coulson) Huddleston, 78, of Livingston, were conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at First United Methodist Church in Livingston.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Cliff Ingram and Rev. Craig Greene officiating.

Mrs. Huddleston died Monday, September 20 at Livingston Regional Hospital. A homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday School for several years.

Born July 9, 1926, in Putnam County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee and Elsie (Lemmons) Coulson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Coulson Jr; and two sisters, Lena Mae Winton and Blanche Standefer.

Survivors include her husband, Alvin Huddleston of Livingston; two daughters, Sandra Curtis of Albertville, AL, and Maria Huddleston of Livingston; two sisters, Ethel Draper of Cleveland and Lillian Peach of Arrington; and three grandchildren, Charley Curtis of Albertville, Susan Curtis of Guntersville, AL, and Rebecca Curtis of Nolensville.

Pallbearers were Charley Curtis, Steve Jolley, Walter Coulson, Roy Lee Standefer, David Harris, Bruce Harris, Robert Huddleston, and Tony Huddleston.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church.

LILLIE MAE (WALKER) MEADOWS
Funeral services for Mrs. Lillie Mae (Walker) Meadows, 77, of Livingston, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Good Hope Cemetery with Bro. Nolan Cantrell officiating.

Mrs. Meadows died Sunday, September 19 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a retired factory worker, a homemaker, and a member of First Baptist Church.

Born May 20, 1927, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Wiley and Rosie (Thrasher) Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Meadows.

Survivors include her husband, James E. Meadows of Livingston; four sons, Bronnie Meadows of Livingston, Rod Meadows of Monroe, Clifton Meadows of Franklin, IN, and Donald Meadows of Trafalgar, IN; a sister, Opal Walker Nolan; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Mark Meadows, James Meadows, Ryan Meadows, Jason Meadows, Josh Meadows, Steven Walker, Ronnie Walker, and Ken Hake. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

FRANCES LOUISE RAMSEY
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Louise Ramsey, 80, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, September 24, 2004, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Rev. Aron Dillon and Rev. Ryan Barnhart officiating.

Mrs. Ramsey died Tuesday, September 21 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a retired factory worker and a member of Grace Baptist Church. She attended Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

Born April 10, 1924, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nora (Cantrell) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, B. Ramsey; a son, Oral Ramsey; two sisters, Woodley Copeland and Myrtle Hargis; and two brothers, Jennings Smith and Charlie D. Smith.

Survivors include two sons, Allen Ramsey and his wife, Nancy, of Rickman, and Danny Ray Barker and his wife, Peggy, of Muncie, IN; a daughter, Janie Potter of Maryville; 7 grandchildren, Gina Ramsey, Alice Holder, Bradford Holder, Robin Holder, Danny Barker Jr., Christy Barker, and Amanda Barker; and 10 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jay Ramsey, Tommy Feaster, Joe Ramsey, Mike Holton, Gary Laycock, and Charles Hammock.

JEAN MARGUERITE SMITH
Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Marguerite Smith, 89, of West Lafayette, IN, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 30, 2004, at Midway Church in Byrdstown.

Graveside services will follow at Smith Family Cemetery in Byrdstown.

Mrs. Smith died Monday, September 27 at Rosewalk Village in West Lafayette. She worked for K-Mart in Lafayette for many years and retired in 1978. She was a former member of Memorial Parkway Church of Christ and graduated from West Point High School in 1934. She had lived in Pickett County for 15 years before returning to the West Lafayette area six months ago.

Born July 25, 1915, in Carroll County, IN, she was the daughter of the late Charles Elva and Marie (Parson) Peters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coy C. Smith; and a sister.

Survivors include two sons, Lloyd Smith of Rural Frankfort, IN, and Charles H. Smith of Livingston; three daughters, Doris Steele of Logansport, IN, Imogene Linedecker of Lebanon, IN, and Charlene Clark of West Lafayette; a sister, Virginia Tharp of Lake Placid, FL; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
