Funeral services for Mr. Ed Petermann, 57, of LaGrange, GA, were
conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2004, at Hunter-Allen-Myhand
Funeral Home in LaGrange with Rev. Carl Knowles officiating.
Mr. Petermann died Saturday, April 3 at Atlanta Medical Center.
He was a plastic engineer with Guardian Automotive and the owner
and operator of ES&P Industries, specializing in wrought iron work.
He was a member of Sons of Confederate Veterans military order of
stars and bars.
Born November 15, 1946 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late
Melcher Clarence Jr. and Martha Nell (Slaughter) Petermann.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Sally Petermann, of LaGrange;
four children, Edward Ross Petermann Jr. of Greenville, SC, Melcher
C. Petermann IV and his wife, Beth, of Columbia, and Kathryn Steele
and her husband, Keith, and Elizabeth Petermann, all of LaGrange;
a sister, Bette Coney and her husband, Richard, of Columbia; two
sisters-in-law, Susan Chappell of Aiken, SC, and Kathy Thomas and
her husband, John, of Jacksonville, FL; a brother-in-law, Bill Scurry,
and his wife, Gail, of Huntersville, NC; a nephew, John Coney and
his wife, Mary, of Columbia; a niece, Sarah Horonzy of Jacksonville;
a great nephew, Lukas Sparks of Jacksonville; and several other
nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
