Mrs. Rosa Lee Truman, 18, died Saturday, at the Cookeville Hospital,
where she was taken a few hours before her death for treatment.
She had been making her home with her mother, Sarah Smith, at Alpine.
Her father, Walter Smith, was killed in a street car accident in
Akron, OH, some three years ago. Her husband has been living in
Old Hickory, where he is employed. She is survived by a small child,
her husband, mother, and four sisters as follows: Vella, Florence,
Slyvia, and Golda Smith. Burial was Monday at the Hayter Old Graveyard,
near the residence of John Vaughn.
The newest canned delicacy is rattlesnake meat. It sells for $4.50
Mr. and Mrs. B. Swallows, of Copeland Cove, visited Mr. and Mrs.
Jim McDonald, of Liberty, Saturday night.
Ray Bilbrey is driving the Livingston Academy school bus for Leland
Allred at present.
The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Watkins is improving.
The Freedonia Community had a pie supper Saturday night.
Amon Speck, W.E. Allred, and Calvin McDonald have been hunting
on Gullet Mountain for the past two days.
