Babe Ruth lead stays
with Copeland
Copeland Trucking remained the leader in Overton County Babe Ruth
last week with an 8-1 record.
Copeland Trucking improved to 7-1 on Tuesday, May 27 as Dustin
Boles and Jamie Vaughn combined to shut out Livingston Family Dentistry
10-0. Matt Lee led the CTI offense with 2 hits.
In the second game, Josh Smith and Andrew Dixon combined on a
no-hitter as Union Bank & Trust defeated Dale Hollow Power Sports
10-0. Andrew Dixon went 3 for 3 at the plate for Union Bank.
On a beautiful Friday night, May 30, Byrdstown Medical Center rallied
to take the lead against American Bank & Trust, and then held off
a furious ABT rally to win 6-5. Brett Roddy had 2 hits and scored
twice to lead BMC, while Clint Durham scored twice for ABT.
In the nightcap, Union Bank & Trust was swinging the bats as they
won over Mark White Tire by a score of 13-3. Travis Murphy had 2
hits and scored 3 runs to lead Union Bank. Paul Ragland had a triple
as he continued to swing a hot bat for MWT.
The first game Saturday, May 31 featured Mark White Tire and Livingston
Family Dentistry. LFD scored 6 runs in the final two innings to
pull out a 10-4 win and raise their record to 5-2. Ben Jolley led
the offense, scoring 3 runs. Griffin Lee had 2 hits for Mark White
Tire.
Byrdstown Medical Center and Dale Hollow Power Sports squared
off in the second game. Dale Hollow got their first win, 6-5, as
Cody Hull stroked a triple, and Cody Elmore had a big two out base
hit. Brett Roddy had his second straight 2-hit game for BMC.
Copeland Trucking kept on trucking in Saturday's final game as
they defeated American Bank & Trust 15-4. Jamie Vaughn went 3 for
3, and nine different players scored for CTI.
