Funeral services for Mrs. Ovaline (Dishman) Ferrell, 77, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2003, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.

Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Nolen Cantrell officiating.

Mrs. Ferrell died Thursday, August 21 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a housewife and of the Baptist faith.

Born May 2, 1926, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Lizzie (Ledbetter) Dishman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Ward Ferrell; a son, James Ward Ferrell; two sisters, Joyce Arney and Earslie Brown; and three brothers, Kenneth Dishman, Roy Dishman, and Hershel Dishman

Survivors include four daughters, Patsy Hawkins and her husband, Lawrence, of Livingston, Joyce Buck and her husband, Steve, of Anderson, IN, Janet Harper and her husband, William, of Cookeville, and Lisa Daniels and her husband, Jim, of Rickman; two sons, Ricky Ferrell and his wife, Debbie, of Rickman and David Ferrell and his wife, Tonya, of Allons; two brothers, Clyde Dishman and Ray Dishman, both of Livingston; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Pallbearers were Bob Reeder, Billy Reeder, Terry Coleman, Ronald Coleman, Baxter Hughes, and Billy Harper.

Mr. Carl Garrett, 90, of Crawford, died Saturday, August 30, 2003 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

He was a sheet metal worker, a welder, and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 435 in Jacksonville, FL.

Born January 10, 1913, in Crawford, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Sara (Wallace) Garrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Garrett.

Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne K. Garrett of Jacksonville, FL, and Dana L. Malis of Marietta, GA; a son, Richard C. Garrett of Ruskin, FL; two sisters, Frances Prill and Beadie Teeples, both of Battle Creek, MI; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild.

The family has chosen cremation and no services are planned at this time.

Memorials may be given to the American Lung Association.

Graveside services for Mrs. Dena (Denman) Hancock, 55, of Walterboro, SC, will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, September 3, 2003, from Hancock Cemetery with Bro. John Copeland officiating.

Mrs. Hancock died Saturday, Aug. 30 at her home. She was a tax preparer.

Born November 9, 1947, in Anniston, AL, she was the daughter of Julia (Price) Denman Crain of Goose Creek, S.C., and the late Gail Crain.

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a son, Damon Juan Hancock and his fiance, Leigh Anne Grooms, of Cookeville; a daughter, Karawan Galena Salais and her husband, Raymen, of Denton, TX; a step-sister, Peggy Ladouceur of Winter Haven, FL; two grandchildren, Marisa Nicole Salais and Brandon Andrew Salais; and a special friend, Dean Neal Braden of Walterboro.

Funeral services for Miss Sherlene McCormick, 48, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, September 1, 2003, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.

Burial was in Hoover Cemetery with Rev. Jerry McCloud officiating.

Miss McCormick died Friday, August 29 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was an LPN and a member of Allons-Bethel Assembly of God.

Born July 3, 1955, in Anderson, IN, she was the daughter of the late Miles Herman Jr. and Sara Ina (Carr) McCormick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Steve McCormick.

Survivors include a sister, Janice Bowers and her husband, Johnny, of Livingston; a niece, Jennifer Padgett of Livingston; a nephew, Greg Bowman of Livingston; a great niece, Alexis Hargis of Livingston; and a sister-in-law, Connie McCormick of Livingston.

Pallbearers David Garrett, Greg Ledbetter, James Handy, Royce Ledbetter, Mike Hobbs, James Hutchisson, Nathan Carr, and Joel Garrett.

Charles Ledbetter served as honorary pallbearer.
