Mrs. Mary Matilda Poston Peek, familarly called "Tela", age 78, died at her home in North Livingston Tuesday, December 5 at 2:30 a.m. of pneumonia. Besides her husband she is survived by five children; three sons, Elmus E. Colbert and Wm. Kelly Peek, and two daughters, Dorsie Peek, and Mrs. Carra Peek Chatwell. She is also survived by one brother I. Newton Poston, and six grandchildren. Burial was in the Zions Hill Cemetery.

Duluth Davis, of Allons, is improving,

Stella Gunnels, who is teaching at Fish Pond, spent the weekend with home folks.

The community of Hilham is anxious for the improvement of the rural route from the Jackson County line, via Allen Mill, to the Hilmam and Cookeville Road, near Campground.

A.A. Cunningham has been ill with a severe cold.

Walter Crawford, who died at his home near Livingston Friday, was brought to Okolona for burial last Saturday morning.

Ethelene Kennedy, of Union Hill, spent Monday night with Mrs. Lester Bilbrey.

Andley Master, who injured his ankle, is back at school.

Hettie Gillentine, Berta White, Magdalene Stover, and Charlie Stover were dinner guests of Marie Teeples last week.

Mrs. Sis Hall is not quite so well.

Jess S. Masters, 91, of the Second District, died at his home near O'Neal Wednesday afternoon of pneumonia. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Leean Brady and Mrs. Nancy Franklin; one brother, William R. Masters; four sisters, Mrs. Josie Smith, Mrs. Frank Ward, Mrs. Mary Maxwell, and Mrs. Serena Davis. Burial will be in the Masters Cemetery.

Eddie Hammonds and Cora Copeland were married Saturday, December 9.

Wiley Cobble and wife were in Rickman Sunday.

A.P. Pressley was in Oak Hill to see Jim Wilson this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Tramel Hinds announce the birth of a daughter, December 5.

R.C. Hawkins, of Joelton, Tenn, is visiting her son, Charles J. Hawkins, of Rickman.

Z.R. Chilton was in Celina on business last week.

Ray Vaughn is visiting relatives in Allred.
