Mrs. Lum Fleming is seriously ill.
Mrs. D.D. Smith visited her mother, Mrs. J.D. West, Sunday.
Thomas Carlock is slowly improving.
J.D. Andrews and son, Dow, have returned home to Rickman after
a three week's visit with relatives in Oklahoma.
Mrs. John Dickerson visited her brother, Willie Warren, near Windle
Sunday.
Betty Lynn Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rucker Jones, celebrated
her seventh birthday August 17. The guests were Colleen Brown, Betty
Reeves Smith, Daisy Belle McMillin, Janie Wheat, Ruth Jernigan,
Janie Sue Maynord, Lucy Francis Mitchell, Margaret Kuykendall, Virginia
Ray Stephens, Henry Jernigan, and Kenneth and Harold Cedric Jones.
Morton Jolley and Edith Pierce, of Byrdstown, were married last
week. Mr. Jolley is the son of Dudley Jolley, who served one term
as sheriff of Pickett County. Mrs. Jolley is the daughter of D.G.
Pierce and is a school teacher at Pickett County High School and
at Tennessee Polytechnic Institute at Cookeville. The couple will
reside near Bloomington.
