Store at Monroe robbed, burned McDonald’s Store, three miles west of Monroe, was burned to the ground after being robbed at midnight Wednesday. A padlock on the store’s front door was found in the street while the store was burning. The building was practically destroyed. A front screen door was also found in the street and truck tracks were seen. The store was also robbed three months ago.

S.R. Peterman, 83, died at his home near Allons on January 17, after a lingering illness. He was married to Syrenae J. Hunter on September 29, 1869. To this union, 12 children were born, 6 survive: Mrs. G.W. Greer, Mrs. Lake Ledbetter, Mrs. William Davis, Mrs. John A. Gunnels, Mrs. T.D. Cole, and Mrs. Herman Holman. His wife died March 9, 1901. Second marriage was to Mrs. Ellen Eubank, who died in 1905. Third marriage was to Mrs. Lizzie Spicer Taylor on December 17, 1907. Fourth marriage was to Martha Dillon in 1913 who died in 1928. Fifth marriage was to Mrs. Jennie Buck Spicer on May 13, 1930, who survives. He is also survived by three brothers: George W., Jake, and M.B. Peterman, and one sister, Mrs. James Tanner. Funeral services were Wednesday afternoon.

Mrs. Roy Oakley is sick with the flu.

J.W. Blount and A.R. Ward were in Knoxville Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Abi Gore are the proud parents of a boy.

R.B. Arnold and Tillman were in Nashville last Saturday.

Mrs. Horace Speck is sick at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Looper, in East Livingston.

Mr. and Mrs. Horace More-dock announce the birth of a boy, January 15.

Carlie Oberson and Carlos Rayburn were in Livingston, R2, Sunday.

Mrs. Elia Brady visited Mrs. C.C. Verble last week.

Claude Pryor visited relatives in Allons last week.

Etheleen Copeland visited Christine Keisling last Sunday.

Mrs. Clay Sweat, of Oak Grove, is on the sick list.

Mrs. Susie White is visiting her daughter, Mrs. W.C. Pryor.
