Elbert Smith, former Fentress County sanitary officer, Friday assumed his duties as Overton County sanitary officer in place of Sam B. Coward, resigned.

School in Windle opened Monday with an enrollment of about 38. Raymond McCormick is teacher.

Dovie Matthews spent last week-end with Della Gore.

Leo Hargis visited Ernest Smith last week.

J.E. Jones and daughter, Clara, visited friends in Windle last week.

Dock Masters and sons spent several days of last week with Mr. and Mrs. Tilden Gore.

A large crowd attended the singing at Eagle Creek Sunday.

Miss Etta York and Hotton Sells were married recently.

Mr. and Mrs. Cornis Stover are the proud parents of a baby boy.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Winningham on July 23, a baby boy.

Batey Stover is on the sick list.

Hershell Norris visited his brother, Newell Norris, at Alpine, recently.

Miss Vella Winningham and Hub Taylor motored to Albany, KY, and were married on July 14.

What a fortunate thing it is that politicians do not have nine lives.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. John L. Means on July 20, a baby boy.

Notice of Election
As provided by statute, we will open and hold elections in all voting places in the town of Livingston, Overton County, TN, between lawful hours, on Thursday, August 4, 1932, for the purpose of electing a Mayor and Board of Aldermen, for the ensuing term, electing a Mayor and two Aldermen for each of the three wards of said town.
Officer to Hold Election 1st Ward - Jason M. Ferrell, T.M. Moredock, John Ferrell, Page Hill, Horace Moredock, and Walter Smith. 2nd Ward - Roy Looper, G.W. Robbins, W.H. Speck, W.T. Brown, Mabel Bilbrey, and Helen Stonecipher. 3rd Ward - Ray Eastland, W.B. Myers, Artie Hodge, B.B. Ledbetter, W.E. Dulaney, and Robert Mitchell.
This July 20, 1932. Aldermen: C.J. Cullom Mayor, T.B. Copeland, J.M. Garrett, E.B. Gray, J.A. Howard, F.M. Speck, and P.W. Wheat.
