Diamond Heat Takes Runner-Up In Tourney




Buzachero Making Mark In League

Bubbie Buzachero has put together a successful summer for the Staunton (VA) Braves.

As of July 17, he had 74 strikeouts and a 1.60 earned run average. The strikeout total is good for the top spot in the Valley Baseball League.

The 5-foot-11 pitcher has a fastball in the mid-90s.

Buzachero played for the Livingston Academy Wildcats in high school and is an integral part of the success of the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles baseball team.


Diamond Heat Takes Runner-Up In Tourney

Diamond Heat placed runner-up in the SSAA World Series Tournament held in Sevierville. Team members are Tiffany Livingston, Allison Medley, Loriann Carr, Tiffany Pennington, Whitney Sells, Jessica McDonald, Bethany Greenwood, Brittany Ray, Kendra Smith, Taryn Williams, Andrea Borden, Casey Emerton, Jade Long, and coaches David Livingston, Rick McDonald, and Tina Williams.

In the opening game Friday, July 20, Rossville Boomers sent Diamond Heat into the losers bracket. The following day, Diamond Heat clawed through the losers bracket, defeating Lady Titans in the first game of the day, then defeated Lady Panthers, Lascassas Lady Stars, and gained revenge on Rossville Boomers. In the championship game, Diamond Heat fell to Mystics.

Diamond Heat was also runner-up in the NSA state qualifier and runner-up in the SSAA state qualifier.
