Willie Edward "Bud" Daniels
Funeral services for Mr. Willie Edward "Bud" Daniels, 69, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral with Rev. Terry McCloud officiating. Burial was in Hoover Cemetery in Allons with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Daniels died Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was a self-employed drywall finisher and affiliated with the Church of Christ.

Born May 18, 1932, in Clay County, he was the son of the late Robert and Inis (Adams) Daniels. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Rayburn Daniels, Elbert Daniels, Merl Daniels, and Roger Daniels.

Survivors include his wife, Cleo Daniels, Livingston; three sons, Dennis Daniels and Anthony Daniels, both of Indianapolis, IN, and John Michael Daniels, Guam; a step-son, Bruce Winningham, Nashville; three daughters, Brenda Friant, Belinda Masters, and Kay Boswell, all of Livingston; five brothers, Eddie Daniels, Paul Daniels, Miley Joe Daniels, and Wayne Daniels, all of Celina, and Bill Daniels, Indiana; four sisters, Betty Jean Riddle, Burkesville, KY, Evadean Long, Kentucky, and Sue McLerran and Louise Raines, both of Celina; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.

 

William Odell Talley
Funeral services for Mr. William Odell Talley, 71, of Livingston, were conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Dewey Glenn Masters officiating. Burial was in Campground Cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Talley died Thursday, Dec. 6 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

Born June 10, 1930, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Jasper and Sally Dee (Brown) Talley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Talley; and a sister, Mary Jo Poston.

Survivors include a brother, Marion J. Talley, Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Beth Kirkpatrick, Livingston; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Willie J. Stafford
Funeral services for Mr. Willie J. Stafford, 82, of Crossville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville with Bro. Kenneth Young officiating. Burial was in Smith Chapel Cemetery with Whitson Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Stafford died Friday, Dec. 7 at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. He was a farmer.

Born December 12, 1918, in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Hershel and Maggie (Smith) Stafford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Stella Stafford, Mattie Davidson, and Lucille Garrett; and three brothers, Ensel Stafford, Elijah Stafford, and Joe Stafford.

Survivors include a brother, Johnny Stafford, Cookeville; and other family members.

Pallbearers were Lynn Miller, Ricky Stafford, Charlie Flynn, Keith Martin, Matthew Williams, Boyd Flowers, Louis Davidson, and Charles David-son.

 

Mable Nelson
Funeral services for Mrs. Mable Nelson, 79, of Monterey, will be conducted at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2001, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Allen officiating. Burial will be in Welch Memorial Cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Nelson died Monday, Dec. 10 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a homemaker, attended the Harris Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and had worked at ACME Boot in Cookeville.

Born September 4, 1922, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Kate (Brown) Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Cook and Robert E. Cook II.

Survivors include her husband, Demon Nelson, Monterey; a sister, Betty King, Monterey; and two brothers, Jim Whittaker and Bill Whittaker, both of Monterey.

 

Nina Linder
Funeral services for Ms. Nina Linder, 77, of Pickett County, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2001, from the chapel of Crestlawn Funeral Home in Byrdstown. Services wer also conducted at the Mt. Pisgah Church in Clay County. Ron Harris officiated both services. Burial was in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with Crestlawn Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Ms. Linder died Saturday, Dec. 1 at Pickett County Nursing Home. She was a retired cashier with K-Mart.

Born June 20, 1924, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Beaty and Cora (Winningham) Fletcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie D. Fletcher and Clurel Fletcher.

Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Leeds, Byrdstown; a son, Donnie Linder, Byrdstown; two brothers, Norman Fletcher and Cloyce Fletcher, both of Allons; two sisters, Beatrice Taylor, Indiana, and Vonda Melton, Allons; a granddaughter, Tracey Monroe, Michigan; and a special cousin, Dale Reeder Winborn, Livingston.

Pallbearers were Ricky Colson, Mike Winborn, Charlie Leeds, Tracey Melton, John Melton, and Kent Fletcher.

 

Shirley Howard
Funeral services for Mr. Shirley Howard, 63, of the Hanging Limb Community, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Raymond Phillips, Rev. Oliver England, and Rev. Arnold Murphy officiating. Burial was in Phillips Cemetery with Goff Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Howard died Saturday, Dec. 8 at his home. He was a retired factory worker and of the Baptist faith.

Born December 20, 1937, in Overton County, he was the son of the late William Burris and Gladys (Phillips) Howard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Howard; a sister, Dimple Guffey; and two infant brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Howard and Scott Howard, both of Monterey; a brother, David Howard, Monterey; five grandchildren; and ex-wife, Doris (Howard) Taylor, Monterey.

 

Earl Howard Gray
Funeral services for Mr. Earl Howard Gray, 55, of Allons, were conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Marlon Winningham officiating. Burial was in Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Gray died Wednesday, Dec. 5 at Livingston Regional Hospital. He was owner of Auberson & Gray Concrete Finishing Company, of the Catholic faith, and a member of the Moose Lodge, Elk Lodge, and Fraternal Order of Police.

Born April 27, 1946, in Vernon, KY, he was the son of Mashie (Kilman) Gray of Celina and the late Howard Gray.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include the mother of his children, Alice Tebbe, Tipton, IN; two sons, Robert Gray and Troy Gray, both of Tipton; a daughter, Rachele Hopkins, Tipton; four brothers, Donald Gray, Livingston, Reed Gray and Grady Gray, both of Allons, and Shirley Gray, Celina; four sisters, Wilma Wolf, Peru, IN, Catherine Kerr, Betty Sue Gray, and Marie Young, all of Celina; and four grandchildren, Tanner Gray, Keegan Gray, Blake Hopkins, and Allison Hopkins.

 

Pearl Gilpatrick
Funeral services for Mrs. Pearl Gilpatrick, 89, of Livingston, were conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, 2001, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Boles officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Gilpatrick died Saturday, Dec. 8 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a seamtress, shirt factory worker, Woodman of the World Fraternity member, and a member of the Hilham Church of Christ.

Born January 11, 1912, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Permelia Hollars. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Elbert Gilpatrick; two sisters, Emmie Coffman and Sidie Hollars; and two brothers, Elmer Hollars and Lester Hollars.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Josephine Hollars, Hilham, and Wayne and Lechya Gilpatrick, Livingston; two grandchildren, Sherry McKee, Rainbow City, AL, and Kayla Gilpatrick, Livingston; and two great grandchildren, Brett McKee and Erika McKee.

Pallbearers were Steve Gilpatrick, Butch Farmer, Tony Bellie, Gary Hollars, Billy Daniels, and Jamie Hollars.
