Woman Dies In Two-Vehicle Collision

A Livingston woman died in a two-vehicle collision
on Hilham Highway (Highway 85) around 4:15 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22.
According to reports, Becky Raines was driving a teal 1999 Chevrolet
Cavalier west on Hilham Highway near the intersection of Windle
Community Road when she apparently lost control of the car, which
crossed the center line and went into the east-bound lane and collided
with the right front of a white Mercury Grand Marquis driven by
Deanna Kennedy, 32, of Standing Stone Highway.
Raines, 42, died from injuries sustained in the collision.
According to the report, she was not wearing a seatbelt.
Wearing a seatbelt could have made a difference, according to the
Tennessee Highway Patrol. THP Wilford Tipton and THP Sgt. Jimmy
Beaty investigated the collision.

A 38 year-old woman perished in a trailer fire around
8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27.
Sandra Adams died when her mobile home on Turkeytown
Road was consumed by fire.
The fire is under investigation.

Body Cancels January Regular Meeting
The regular monthly meeting of the Overton County Legislative Body
has been canceled for January. The County Commission will next meet
on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
