Larry David "Tack" Murphy
Funeral services for Mr. Larry David "Track" Murphy, 51, of Alpine, were conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 28, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Aron Dillon officiating. Burial was in Falling Springs Cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Murphy, a truck driver for Livingston Concrete Co., died Thursday, May 25, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born January 26, 1949, in Putnam County, he was the son of the late James D. and Hester Hargis Murphy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Elizabeth Murphy; and three brothers, Sam Murphy, James Buck Coleman, and Joe Benton Coleman.

He was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Melinda Murphy, Alpine; a son, Mark Murphy, Alpine; two brothers, Jerry Murphy and Joe Murphy, both of Livingston; four sisters, Wanda Jones, Akron, OH, Teddy Rose Simpson, Alpine, Valerie Barlow, Hilham, and Becy Raines, Livingston; a granddaughter, Ashley Murphy; an aunt, Effie Coleman; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were J.C. Roberts, Glen Ledbetter, Keith Leslie, Anthony Murphy, Freddie Murphy, Richard Murphy, James Murphy, and Brutis Coleman. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Abston, Michael Simpson, Donnie Simpson, Matthew Geesling, Jason Murphy, Josh Murphy, Jamie Cravens, Jeremy Murphy, Steven Murphy, and Leo Ledbetter.

 

Jerry D. Myers
Funeral services for Mr. Jerry D. Myers, 76, of Livingston, will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, June 16, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Elder Richard Gist officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Myers, an auto factory worker, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at V.A. Medical Center in Nashville.

Born January 23, 1924, in Overton County, he was the son of the late Robert Sidney and Caroline Cullom Myers.

He was a deacon in the Church of God in Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Survivors include a son, Ronald Myers, Cookeville; two daughters, Janis Myers, Indianapolis, IN, and Stephanie Myers, Syracuse, NY; and a sister, Agnes Hamilton.

 

Dora B. Robbins
Funeral services for Mrs. Dora B. Robbins, 88, of Lancing, were conducted at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 13, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Bro. Doyle Nance officiating. Burial was in Falling Springs Cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Robbins, a housewife, died Saturday, June 10, 2000, at her home.

Born October 19, 1911, in Appalachia, VA, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Mary Elizabeth Dingus Boggs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, U.E. Robbins.

She was affiliated with a non-denominational church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

 

Jennie Keisling
Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Keisling, 97, of Livingston, were conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 30, 2000, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home with Dr. Lyle Anderson officiating. Burial was in Nelson Cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Keisling, a housewife, died Sunday, May 28, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Born October 3, 1902, in Pickett County, she was the daughter of the late Will Sims and Sylvolia Emmaline Garrett Sims. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Marvin Ward Keisling; and her infant daughter, Alfreda Keisling.

She was a member of Hatcher Hall Christian Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Charles Keisling, Dale Keisling, Stevie Sims, Darius Sims, Jeff Petry, and Dave Parasol.

 

Manilla Lorene Reeder
Funeral services for Mrs. Manilla Lorene Reeder, 77, of Monroe, were conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 11, 2000, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Cletis Beason officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Reeder, a garment factory worker, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Livingston Regional Hospital. Born May 5, 1923, in Clay County, she was the daughter of the late Elzie and Minnie Sherrill Conner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Conner. She was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Carol Reeder, Monroe; a sister, Joyce Nichols, Chattanooga; three brothers, Jackie Conner, Allons, Roy Conner and Shirlie Conner, both of Monroe; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Glen Reeder, Matthew Reeder, David Matthews, Joe Conner, Kenny Conner, and Jimmy Simpson.

 

Sanford Stover
F uneral services for Mr. Sanford Stover, 76, of Indianapolis, IN, were conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 9, 2000, from G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home in Indianapolis, IN. Burial was in New Crown Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN, with G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Stover, a retired truck driver for Lilly Industries in Indianapolis, IN, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

Born January 4, 1924, in Livingston, he was the son of F.M. Stover and Delia (Stover) Stover. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cletis Stover, Bill Stover, and Herb Stover. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in the 1st Infantry that landed on D-Day.

Survivors include his wife, Reba (Arney) Stover, Indianapolis, IN; a daughter, Sandy Reeder, Monrovia, IN; two sons, Phil Stover, Indianapolis, IN, and Mark Stover, Martinsville, IN; a sister, Mae Herd, Macon, GA; and four grandchildren.
