A boy was born recently to Walter Cooper and wife.

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Matheny, of near Livingston, and Johnny Garrett, of Hanging Limb, attended the funeral of Alfred Garret Wednesday.

Velma Taylor spent a few days last week with her grandmother, Mrs. John Cole, near Monroe.

Mrs. Jeff Reynolds is on the sick list.

Miss Velma Whittenburg who has bad typhoid has taken a back set and is very bad.

F.K. Resser was in town Saturday.

E.A. McDonald made a trip to Celina on a raft last week.

Shady Garrett has gone to Stanford, Ky. on business.

Miss Martelia Wright is visiting her sister, Mrs. John Ledford in Jackson county.

Maynord Winningham and wife, of Texas, are here visiting relatives and friends. Mr. Winningham was born and raised here. He left here about twenty-two years ago.

Mrs. W.R. Officer was quite sick last week.

Misses Rose Gore and Annie Carlock are visiting relatives at Henard.

Mrs. Biddy Boswell died Friday night and was buried Saturday at Bethleham.
Mrs. Boswell was formerly Miss Biddy Lea.
Her mother, Mrs. Annie Lea, is still living and is ninety-three years of age.
She leaves five children, three brothers: G.W., J.H., and Obe Lea and two sisters: Mrs. Becky Speck and Amy McCormick.
She was for fifteen years a widow, her husband having preceded her to the land of rest.

Maurice Groce is here from Byrdstown.

J.N. Cannon, of Oak Hill, was in town Friday on business.

Peyton Brown, of Texas, is here visiting his father, A.C. Brown.

John Boles was down from the Obeds River country Monday.

Circuit court is in session this week, and Judge Snodgrass is rushing through the docket. Wynn Clouse, Cookeville, S.M. Turner, Byrdstown, and J.H. Bowman, Obey City, are the visiting attorneys.

M.A. Speck, wife and daughter, Miss Ethel, spent last week at Monterey visiting relatives and friends.
