Shooting Scrap at Oakley
One day last week Estes Coffee shot and seriously wounded Tom Holman near Oakley. There seems to have been an old grudge between the men, the gun employed was a shotgun and the shot entered the forearm and side. Dr. Breeding was called and dressed the wound.
Both men are about 25 years of age. Holman has a wife and several children. Coffee is still at liberty and it is reported that there will likely be no prosecution over the affair.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ledbetter visited Mrs. Ledbetter's sister, Mrs. Haze Austin, at Richard Town from Friday until Sunday.

A crowd of young people fished in Walter Wilson's pond Saturday evening.

Miss Rose Gore returned from Oak Hill today. She had been type writing for W.C. Cooper for several days.

L. Booher, who lived near Eagle Creek, was found dead last Saturday near his barn. He was engaged in shoeing a horse when last noticed by his family. Heart failure is believed to have been the cause. He was 65 years of age and leaves a wife and several grown children.

Mrs. J.T. Garrett is very low.

Mrs. Marion Davis died at Timothy Friday.

Born to H. Davis and wife on the 6th, a girl.

Miss Dora Myers, who was with her mother during her last long sickness and death, has returned to Cookeville. Her sister, Miss Julie, went with her and will remain some time.

Elmer Murphy, of Hilham, is here engaged in the ball games being played on local diamond this week.

Willard Speck has bought the auto that B.L. Speck brought from Lebanon last week and will use it in connection with his livery business.

Mrs. Robert Fuqua, of Crawford, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Little.

Miss Etta Neely, of Celina, is visiting her mother and sister, Mrs. B.M. Stanton.

Dr. Qualls reports new girls at Jasper Bilbrey's and at Virgil Allred's.

W.K. Draper made a business trip to Gainesboro last week.

Ridley Bilbrey and family, of Olga, visited at F.G. Bilbrey's Saturday night.
