Huckeby Defeats Berkline In Men's
League

All games scheduled for Wednesday, June 2 were rained out, making
the opening game of the week a 17-7 Huckeby Construction win over
Berkline.
Ricky Davis led Huckeby's with 4 hits, while Jimmie Lewis and Allen
Lewis added 3 hits each. Waylon Ledbetter and Greg Parsons each
hit a home run for Huckeby Construction.
Billy Witt led Berkline with 3 hits, while Jeff Hammock, Bruce
Gore, and Eddie Johnson added 2 hits each.
Bruce Gore hit a home run for Berkline.
Thursday's second game was won by Kelly Williams/DeKalb Health
Foods over Ciphertek as they scored 9 runs in the seventh inning
to win 14-7.
KW/DHF was led by David Moore and Steve Boles with 3 hits each,
while Randy Wilson, Mark Meadows, John Brooks, and Mark ÒThe HammerÓ
Lee added 2 hits each.
Ciphertek was led by Jeremy McDonald, Greg Arnold, Steve Castle,
and Michael Melton with 2 hits each.
The third game of the night was a forfeit as TranSouth was unable
to field enough players against Pepsi.

Girls Softball
League
The Overton County Girls Softball League held its 10-Under Tournament
on Saturday, June 5. Roberts Motor Company took the tournament championship
with a win over a tired First National Bank team.
The day began with Union Bank posting an 8-3 win over American
Savings Bank.
Building Center then put First National Bank into the loser's bracket
with a 14-5 win.
In the second round, Roberts Motor Company downed Union Bank 10-1.
Roberts Motor Company then defeated Building Center 16-7.
In the third round, First National Bank eliminated ASB with a 12-5
win.
First National then eliminated Union Bank with a 19-5 win.
In the fourth round, First National narrowly defeated Building
Center 13-10, placing Building Center third in the tournament.
In the championship game, First National faced Roberts Motor Company
in their fifth game of the day and fourth consecutive game. Roberts
Motor Company got out front early and held on to win 14-9 for the
championship.
The 10-Under regular season was closed out earlier in the week
with games played on Thursday, June 3.
Building Center handed Roberts Motor Company only its second defeat
of the year with a 12-11 win.
American Savings Bank won its second game of the year 9-6 over
Union Bank.
Building Center solidified its season runner-up position with a
21-19 win over First National Bank.

Holt's Takes Minor League Season Title
Holt's Family Pharmacy won the Overton County Minor League regular
season championship after play last week.
