Home Runs Abound In Men's Softball

Ciphertek defeated Tran-South 12-2 to win their first game of the season on Wednesday, May 26.

Ciphertek was led by Andy Smith who went 4 for 4 with a home run. Jason Thompson and Michael Melton chipped in with 3 hits each to aid Ciphertek in their victory.

TranSouth was led by Kyle Spears with 2 hits.

Wednesday's second game saw Johnson Paving defeat Berkline 13-6.

Johnny Painter and Matt Jolley led Johnson Paving with 3 hits each. Johnny Painter hit a home run for Johnson Paving.

Berkline was led by Wayne Dishman with 3 hits and Shane Nivens with 2 hits. Wayne Dishman and Shane Nivens each hit a home run for Berkline.

Wednesday's final game saw Pepsi use 9 home runs to defeat KW/DHF 30-16.

Pepsi was led by James Robbins with 5 hits, while Robbie Burgess and Matt Swallows added 4 hits each. Jeff Arms hit 3 home runs in 4 at-bats, John Reagan hit 2 home runs, and Eric Mitchell, James Robbins, Dusty Buchannan, and Jason Trent each hit a home run.

KW/DHF was led by Mark Meadows with 4 hits, while Roger Ledbetter, Mark Thrasher, David Moore, and Mark “The Hammer” Lee had 3 hits each.

On Thursday, May 27, Pepsi tied the league home run record as they hit 12 home runs to defeat Huckeby Construction 26-14.

Pepsi was led by Jeff Arms and Eric Mitchell who went 5 for 5. Jeff Arms hit 4 home runs, Eric Mitchell hit 3 home runs, and John Reagan, Barry Webb, James Robbins, Jason Trent, and Dusty Buchannan each hit a home run.

Huckeby Construction was led by Gerald Ferrell and Tracy Welch with 3 hits each. Waylon Ledbetter hit 2 home runs for Huckeby Construction.

Johnson Paving remained undefeated as they ran their record to 8-0 with a 25-15 victory over Kelly Williams/DeKalb Health Foods.Johnson Paving used 10 home runs to secure their win.

Johnsons was led by Jeff Flowers, Bert Jolley, and Andy Parsons with 4 hits each. Gerald Clark, Andy Parsons, and Bert Jolley each hit 2 home runs, while Johnny Painter, Richard Beaty, Mark Neely, and Steve Arms added a home run each for Johnson's.

KW/DHF was led by Mark Thrasher and John Brooks with 3 hits each. Mark Thrasher hit 2 home runs while Mike Matthews and John Brooks added a home run each for KW/DHF.

Thursday's final game saw Berkline defeat TranSouth 19-9.

Berkline was led by Randy Gore with 4 hits, while Billy Witt, Shane Nivens, Wayne Dishman, and Ken Gore had 3 hits each. Billy Witt and Randy Gore each hit a home run for Berkline.

TranSouth was led by Jason Phipps, Mark Winningham, Billy Phipps, Keith Miller, and Greg Estes with 2 hits each. Kyle Spears and Keith Miller each hit a home run for TranSouth.
