Johnson Paving Stays Undefeated

The first game of Wednesday, June 9 was a 24-6 win for Huckeby Construction over Ciphertek. Jimmie Lewis, Roger Huckeby, and Paul Hunt led Huckeby's with 4 hits each.

Jimmy Lewis and Tracy Welch hit a home run each.

Ciphertek was led by Michael Melton and Jeremy McDonald with 2 hits each. Michael Melton hit a home run.

The second game was won by Johnson Paving 21-5 over TranSouth.

Johnson Paving was led by Kenny Tayes, Gerald Clark, Richard Beaty, Steve Arms, and Steve Raines with 3 hits each. Gerald Clark and Steve Arms hit 2 home runs each for Johnson's while Johnny Painter had a home run.

TranSouth was led by Scotty Beaty and Robbie Berta with 2 hits each.

The final game of Wednesday night saw Kelly Williams/DeKalb Health Foods defeat Berkline 25-6.

KW/DHF was led by Roger Ledbetter, Mark Meadows, David Moore, and Mike Matthews with 4 hits each. Mark Thrasher and David Moore each hit a home run.

Berkline was led by Wayne Dishman and Eddie Johnson with 2 hits each. Wayne Dishman and Shane Nivens each hit a home run.

The first game of Thursday, June 10 saw Johnson Paving stay undefeated and run their record to 10-0 with a 21-4 victory over Ciphertek.

Bert Jolley led Johnson Paving with 4 hits while Jeff Flowers, Gerald Clark, and Johnny Painter added 3 hits each. Gerald Clark had two home runs, while Johnny Painter and Bert Jolley each hit a home run.

Ciphertek was led by Brad Carr with 2 hits. Derek McDonald hit a home run for Ciphertek.

The second game saw Pepsi hit nine home runs en route to a 26-8 victory over Berkline.

Pepsi was led by Shane Qualls with 5 hits, while Eric Mitchell, Jason Wyatt, and Dusty Buchannan had 4 hits each. Eric Mitchell hit two home runs, while Jeff Arms, Jason Wyatt, John Reagan, Barry Webb, James Robbins, Matt Swallows, and Dusty Buchannan each hit a home run.

Berkline was led by Eddie Johnson, Bobby McDougal, Randy Gore, Wayne Dishman, and Bruce Gore with 2 hits each. Randy Gore and Bobby McDougal each hit a home run.

Huckeby Construction won the final game of the night with a 27-7 victory over TranSouth.

Huckeby's was led by Roger Huckeby with 4 hits, while Jimmie Lewis, Waylon Ledbetter, Greg Parsons, Chris Story, Paul Hunt, and Mickey Huckeby each had 3 hits. Chris Story had two home runs and Greg Parsons hit a home run.

TranSouth was led by Keith Miller, Robbie Berta, Jason Phipps, Scotty Beaty, Billy Phipps, Leon Harris, and Jimmy Barlow with a hit each. Keith Miller hit a home run.

Babe Ruth All-Stars Announced

Overton County Babe Ruth has announced its All-Star representatives for 1999.

Members of the 1999 15 year-old Overton County All-Stars are Mike Kinnaird, Kyle Little, Nathaniel Rich, Jesse Wolfram, Cody Boles, Anthony Ognibene, Jeff Aldridge, Joel Garrett, Jonathan Cummings, Chris Garrett, Donovan Reid, Josh Cravins, Cody Campbell, Andrew Looper, and Jason Gibson. Coaches are Jason Phipps, Ben Aldridge, Jimmy Little, and Ken Kesty.

Members of the 1999 14 year-old Overton County All-Stars are Clint Peterman, Michael Poston, Rob Medley, Barry Lee, Robert McKay, Zachary Gantt, Josh Savage, Patrick McKay, Tyler Garrett, Luke Mason, Andy Robbins, Adam Parris, Mike Hayes, Todd Rose, and Brad Butler. Coaches are Curtis Hayes, Gabe Krantz, and Bill McKay.

Members of the 1999 13 year-old Overton County All-Stars are Phillip Young, Lance Mason, Cody Melton, Nathan Groce, Chad Moody, Anton Coleman, Alan Asberry, Micah Smith, Jared Holman, Josh Gore, Drue Jolly, Michael Murphy, Daniel Clark, and Lee Boles. Coaches are Chip Buck, Doc Mason, and Blane Garrett.

Parsons Wins Girls 8-Under Softball Tournament Saturday

Members of the Overton County 8-Under Girls Softball Tournament champion and season runner-up Parsons Auto Repair team are C.J. Boykin, Chastity Hammond, Kayla Nelson, Ariel Carr, Amanda Hammock, Alicia Melton, Briteny Jackson, Destiny Hammond, Sarah Jane Maynord, Amanda Smith, and coaches Kathy Carr, Renee Thornhill, and Jongee Arnold.

Members of the Overton County 8-Under Girls Softball season champion and tournament runner-up First National Bank team are Shelby Taylor, Mallory Maxfield, Heather Marshall, Shawna Hammock, Daniella Florea, Savannah Vaughn, Chelsea Poston, Brittany Bowers, Allie Baltimore, Megan White, Alisa Sells, and coaches Allen Baltimore, Tim Vaughn, Tonya Vaughn, and Suzy Taylor.

Members of the Overton County 8-Under Girls Softball Tournament third place and season third place Cotton States Insurance team are Cassandra Smith, Kourtni Heaton, Katelyn Webb, Selissa Gore, Samantha Maya, Rebecca Savage, Autumn Webb, Mary Beth Winningham, Caitlin Emerton, and Chezney Hammock, with coach Rick Savage.

Lightning Takes Championship
The Livingston Lightning finished as Upper Cumberland Soccer Association U-12 champions in both the fall and spring session. Members of the Livingston Regional Hospital sponsored team are Jonathan McGill, midfielder, Cory Cross, midfielder, Tyler Sells, stopper, Colton Cross, midfielder, Andy Gunnels, striker, Wes Korth, midfielder, Shane Livingston, midfielder, Griffin Lee, fullback, Graham Goodman, fullback, Jacob Pennington, goal keeper, Brad West, striker, Alex Gunnels, striker, Josh Crawford, fullback, and Coach Tim McGill.
