MARVIN DUANE HEARD
Funeral services for Mr. Marvin Duane Heard, 45, of Livingston,
were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 1999 from the chapel
of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Denson officiating. Burial
was in the Overton County Memorial Gardens with Speck Funeral Home
in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Heard, a self-employed construction worker, died Sunday, September
19, 1999, at Livingston Regional Hospital.
Born May 19, 1954, in Highland Park, MI, he was the son of William
Kennard and Mildred A. Peace Heard of Livingston.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the U. S. Air
Survivors, in addition to his parents, are a brother and sister-in-law,
Larry and Araina Heard, Livingston, and five nephews.
OVA L. SMITH
Funeral services for Mrs. Ova L. Smith, 69, of Livingston, were
conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, September 20, 1999 from the chapel
of Speck Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry B. Buck officiating. Burial
was in Green Hill Cemetery with Speck Funeral Home in charge of
Mrs. Smith, a housewife, died Thursday, September 16, 1999 at
Livingston Regional Hospital.
Born January 26, 1930, in Overton County, she was the daughter
of the late Lee and Mary Elizabeth Smith Pulliams. In addition to
her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ward G. Smith.
She was affiliated with the Pentecostal church.
Survivors include two sons, Odise Threet , Albany, KY, and Joel
Threet, Monterey; a daughter, Wanda Dorton, Anderson, IN; five brothers,
Quitman Ledbetter and Jerry Ledbetter, both of Livingston, Curtis
Pulliams, Columbia, IN, Chester Pulliams, Texas, and Kenneth Pulliams,
Glasgow, KY; five sisters, Nova Cope, Alpine, Faye Eldridge and
Emma Davidson, both of Cookeville, Myrtle Hargis, Monterey, and
Reba Cooper, Albany, KY; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jeff Ledbetter, Wayne Ledbetter, Randy Ledbetter,
Larry Threet, Michael May, and Eddie May.
