Obituaries
Donny B. Huckeby
Funeral services for Mr. Donny B. Huckeby, 50, of Monroe were conducted
at 2 p.m. Monday, June 7, 1999, at Beaty Swamp Community Church
with Bro. Aron Dillon officiating. Graveside and military services
were provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5062 at Booher Cemetery
with Livingston Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Huckeby, a construction worker, died Saturday, June 5, 1999,
at Pickett County Nursing Home in Byrdstown.
Born July 24, 1948, in Overton County, he was the son of Roy Huckeby
Jr. and Wilma (Booher)
Huckeby of Monroe.
He was a member of Beaty Swamp Community Church and a veteran.
Survivors in addition to his parents include two sisters, Linda
Gore, Powder Springs, GA, and Janet Huckeby, Nashville; four brothers,
Benny Huckeby, Bobby Huckeby, Mickey Huckeby, and Roger Huckeby,
all of Monroe; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Ray Huckeby, Johnny Huckeby, Clinton Guffey, Rick
Gunter, Gary Young, and Henderson Young.
Rick E. Whited
Funeral services for Mr. Rick E. Whited, 31, of Jamestown, were
conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, 1999, from the chapel of
Livingston Funeral Home with Bro. Ovle Tinch officiating. Burial
was in Hunter Cove Cemetery with Livingston Funeral Home in charge
of the arrangements.
Mr. Whited, a saw mill employee, died Saturday, June 5, 1999, at
Rhea County Medical Center in Dayton.
Born June 23, 1967, in Overton County, he was the son of Helen
Sue (Ray) Whited of Jamestown and the late Dallas E. Whited. In
addition to his father, he was preceded in death by grandparents,
Josie D. Ray and E.G. and Samantha A. Whited; and an infant brother,
Darrel.
Survivors in addition to his mother include three daughters, Ashley
M. Whited, Emily B. Whited, and Taylor C. Whited, all of Livingston;
a grandfather, Thomas W. Ray, Allons; two sisters, Mechelle Ray,
Allons, and Sandra Sells, Jamestown; a special great uncle, Carl
Whited Sr.; six aunts; three nieces; a host of cousins and other
relatives; and a special friend, Brenda Cravens.
Pallbearers were Steven Smith, Tim Sells, B.J. Gunnels, J.R. Cravens,
Michael Crabtree, and Chris Reagan. Honorary pallbearers were Brian
Smith, Billy A. Davis, Bobby A. Davis, and Chad Hall.
