Director interviews to be held May 24

Overton County Board of Education members will begin their Memorial Day weekend by interviewing director of schools candidates in a marathon session set to begin 4 p.m. Friday, May 24.

School Board members agreed on the date during a work session Monday, May 13 in which they considered their personal schedules, elementary school graduations, and Livingston Academy awards night and graduation before agreeing on May 24. The work session to look at candidate qualifications and to set an interview time had been called during a work session before the regular monthly meeting Tuesday, May 7.

The list of candidates was narrowed from 13 to 11 in Monday’s work session.

TTCL students earn computer certifications

Kalin Beason, of Allons, recently earned his Microsoft Technology Associate certificate from Tennessee Technology Center at Livingston. The certificate focused on the area of Windows operating systems fundamentals. This and other certifications available at the Technology Center prepare individuals for roles such as Help Desk Support and Client Systems Administration.

Powerspeak Languages, an interactive online experience, allows everyone in Tennessee to learn new languages on their own schedules. This program is ideal for students, business professionals, leisure travelers, or anyone who simply wants a new skill.
