Retail gas prices remained relatively stable last week as oil prices yo-yoed.
Crude prices were on an upward path after the positive jobs report, but the price surge came to a halt after the value of the dollar rose against other currencies. Tensions overseas also countered the bearish fundamentals and have helped to keep oil prices elevated.

Launch Tennessee, a public-private partnership focused on supporting the creation and development of high-growth companies in Tennessee, released its 2012 report on entrepreneurship and innovation in Tennessee on Tuesday, April 30.
Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner and Launch Tennessee Chairman Bill Hagerty said, “Tennessee is quickly becoming an entrepreneurial hotbed with successful startup companies in a variety of sectors. We have the right support structure in place to help innovators, entrepreneurs and investors in Tennessee build on their success and generate more great jobs in our state.”

You can plan obsessively for an event, as those behind the scenes of the “Live in Livingston” concert had done in the months leading up to the all-day show held Saturday, May 4. But you can’t plan the weather.
Rain pelted the Courthouse Square in Livingston throughout the day, keeping the crowd smaller than might have otherwise been expected. The weather didn’t stop that crowd from checking out businesses around the square, according to several shopkeepers.
