A crash on West Main Street Wednesday, May 15 led to a traffic backup that may have played a role in a second multiple-vehicle collision on the Highway 111 Bypass minutes later.

Livingston Fire Department, along with the Town of Livingston Water Department, began flushing hydrants on Monday, May 20 and will continue through Friday, May 24.

Convenience centers
Overton County transfer station, recycling center, and all convenience centers will be closed on Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.
The centers will reopen Tuesday, May 28 with regular hours.
City garbage routes
Garbage routes in the Town of Livingston will temporarily change in order for the city to observe Memorial Day.
Trash will not be picked up on Monday, May 27. Monday’s trash route will be picked up on Tuesday May 28 along with Tuesday’s usual route.

With all members present, Overton County Legislative Body voted unanimously in approval of sending a grant application that could get funding for three school resource officers (SROs) in Overton County Schools outside the Livingston city limits at reduced cost to the county.
